Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is GroMor 100% Organic Fertiliser?
GroMor is a totally natural, high nutrient and odourless fertiliser suitable for home gardens and commercial crops.
  • What makes it unique?
GroMor’s patented decomposition process produces the most nutrient rich, odourless 100% organic fertiliser available in Australia.
  • How does it offer value for money?
GroMor is a concentrated plant and soil food in one, which means you use less per square meter than other types of fertilisers.
  • Will it burn my plants?
No. GroMor nutrients are in a plant-available form, so the plant only takes up the nutrients it needs.
  • How do I apply it?
Simply spread it or dig it in, then water. The fact that GroMor is in fines and not pelletised means you can spread it on mulched areas and simply water in.
  • Can I use it in my drip system?
Yes, but you will need to steep or mix it thoroughly in a container and strain the larger solids and particles out of it.
  • Can I use it with other fertilisers?
Yes, but there would usually be no need since GroMor has a better balanced nutrient content than most other organic fertilisers.
  • Is it OK to use on indoor plants?
Yes. Because it is nutrient rich and odourless it is ideal for indoor plants.
  • Can I use it on my native plants and proteas?
Yes. The thorough decomposition process means GroMor won’t upset sensitive plants. For certain plants such as grass trees, ask your nursery when purchasing plants.
  • Is it safe to handle?
GroMor is a totally natural product however we recommend wearing gloves and washing your hands after working with it.
  • Will my dog be attracted to it?
No. There is nothing in it to attract dogs.
  • What does ‘Certified Organic’ mean?
It means that GroMor complies with strict standards set by an independent governing body, The Biological Farmers Association (BFA) .
  • Who’s the BFA?
The Biological Farmers’ Association sets national standards and applies criteria to products to ensure that they are completely free of harmful chemicals or micro-organisms.
  • What is ‘organic carbon’?
Carbon compounds called humates that are the final product of decomposition. Humates (humic and fulvic acids) are the compounds that plants use directly for nutrient uptake.
  • What does ‘complete’ mean?
GroMor is balanced in nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium plus trace elements and useful soil micro-organisms.
  • How is it made?
GroMor is made by a patented 6 stage process which accelerates the decomposition process so nutrients are ready for the plants immediately.
  • Why is it odourless?
The unique, patented 6 stage process removes the odour, but keeps the nutrients.
  • I use my own compost, why should I use GroMor?
GroMor allows your plants to uptake nutrients immediately, and it is biologically active.
  • What does ‘biologically active’ mean?
GroMor is a living product that contains natural, beneficial bacteria and fungi that assist in converting nutrients to a form quickly accessible to plants.
  • Is it environmentally friendly?
Yes. GroMor provides a green alternative to feedlot waste disposal which traditionally has been dumped on pastures and can leach into waterways.
  • Does it have any harmful chemicals in it?
    No, it’s certified 100% organic.
  • Does it contain growth hormones or other unwanted organic compounds?
No. They are destroyed by the decomposition process.
  • Does it have seeds in it?
No. Processing of the product decomposes any seeds.
  • Will it leach out of my pots?
No. GroMor is in a stable, soil-building format that slows down leaching and vaporisation of nutrients.
  • Can I use it with mulch?
Yes. Because it is biologically active, it actually improves the decomposition process.
  • Is it better than ‘organic’ chicken manure?
Yes. Chicken manure has lower levels of nutrients and is not usually as thoroughly decomposed so takes longer for the plants to be able to use the nutrients. Chicken manures often contain a high percentage of sawdust.
  • Is it better than cow manure?
Yes. It has higher nutrient value and organic carbon, and lower salt levels.
  • Will it harm the worms, natural bacteria and fungi in my soil?
No. GroMor is biologically active and will enhance your existing soils and the flora and fauna within those soils
